These new products offer more choice in benefits and premiums. In addition to a variety of deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums, clients can take advantage of:

• Optional Blue Dental coverage - If Blue Dental is selected, coverage is provided for diagnostic and preventive care and minor restorative care. Dental claims are paid at 90 percent with an annual maximum of $1,000.
• Prescription Drug coverage - Blue Rx is included in all of the new plans. Coverage for prescription contraceptives can be added as an optional benefit.
• Carryover deductible - With the exception of the Essential plan, charges for covered services incurred in the last three months of the year which are used to meet the current year's deductible will carry over to meet the following year's deductible.
• Prior deductible credit - When a client moves from one individual Blue plan to another to another, any amount paid toward the current plan's deductible will be credited to the deductible of the new plan.

Also new with these plans is a "rating up" option for certain conditions. This will allow some people who have previously been declined for insurance to now obtain coverage at an additional premium.
